COMPARISON REVIEW: L' OREAL PARIS TRUE MATCH vs. REVLON PhotoReady FOUNDATION

Greeting from Philippines, pretty ladies!

It's been a year now since I am using these two babies, and as you can see, you can probably tell which of the two I am using more often. ;)

Hold on pretties, don't give your conclusions just yet, like, "Oh, i think the photoready works well because the bottle looks nearly empty." :D LOL

Comparing these two brand was never easy for me since they both work amazingly. But course, one way or another, you'll get to see the difference specially when you are using it  on a daily basis.

Let me start off by giving you the details of each product. :)

~  L'OREAL TRUE MATCH  ~

What the product says?

Super blendable liquid foundation. It has SPF 17 | PA++.
New with Hyaluronic acid. Skin is hydrated all day.
New ultra-fine pigments for an even more precise match with your skin tone.
Outstanding coverage for a flawless natural make-up result. Your skin simply made perfect.

~  REVLON PHOTOREADY  ~

What the product says?

It has SPF 20/FPS 20.
Perfected airbrushed skin in any light.
Complete coverage. Oil free. Fragrance free.

4 criterias when choosing the right foundation

1. FORMULA.

Revlon has a higher SPF than L'oreal.
A good number of SPF will keep you protected from sun's harmful elements and prevents your skin from ageing. On the other hand, L'oreal contains Hyaluronic acid which can keep your skin hydrated and keep it more youthful and radiant.

WIN:    L'oreal.

2. AFFORDABILITY

L'OREAL TRUEMATCH - 980php
REVLON PHOTOREADY -920php

Believe me, you can already buy an eyeliner with 60php. LOL

WIN: Revlon Photoready.

3. TEXTURE & BLENDABILITY

L'oreal, is super lightweight and blendable. It's like, not wearing any foundation at all. It's good for a regular use everyday.
Revlon has a bit heavier texture. It's thicker and it contains a very light shimmer. Blendable and has an outstanding coverage. Both are oil free for me.

WIN: Both.

4. APPEARANCE (IN & OUT the CAMERA LENS)

Out of the camera lens, both have no cakey look appearance. They obviously hide face impurities such as blemishes, pimple scars etc.(depending on the coverage).
As you can see on the picture below, Revlon has a highlighting effect because of it's shimmer. It looks so perfect and  I love it!
The SPF of both product did not really make my face appeared white on the picture as what I was expecting. My skin looks healthy fair.

                   L'OREAL TRUEMATCH                                   REVLON PHOTOREADY
N4 Nude Beige                                                 004 Nude NU

I bought my L'OREAL baby sometime in the month of May, when my summer escapade in Boracay and Palawan was completely over. I just thought of buying a foundation that would match my skin tone since I had my skin a bit tanned and all I need was a foundation that would blend well with my skin tone.

Meanwhile, I know that my "lovely tan" (errrr) shall pass. After 3 months of of wearing my natural skin color(believe me, that was the real me, LOL.), the fair skinned princess came back.  I am not really the type of person who's picky when it comes in choosing the the right foundation. Concealer is my best friend and I can live with it like forever. :D

But since I started my career as a freelance make-up artist, I had to choose the right foundation that has a good formula and long lasting. In lieu to that, I've seen a lot of good reviews about Revlon Photoready so I just thought of giving it a try.

WIN: Revlon Photoready

Score beautyboard check, it's a 1/3 result. Revlon Photoready won the crown!
I believe that a good coverage can also be attained using a good brush and the how you blend it. Whenever I use these products, I make sure to blend it very well whether in a full coverage or just targeting a certain
spot.
Blending is the key, indeed.

What about you? Have you tried using these product? Which one do you love most?

I hope this one would help you in choosing your foundation.
Thanks for reading!

REVIEW: Solarium 30SPF Sun cream

Hello everyone!
Happy sunny Saturday. :)
How are you enjoying the summer?
Going out of town. Beach. Fiestas. Lots of out-door activities. Perfect blue sky. Believe me, there are so many things to love about summer. :D

It's hot outside, I know. But don't you think it is refreshing somehow?
For me, it's the time when I can enjoy the water the most. Whether you go out for a swim or just sipping some watermelon shake.  :)

Whether you are at the beach, or just walking around the house or office, make sure you are protected from UVB and UVA rays. These ultraviolet radiation damages the skin, ages it prematurely, and increases your risk of skin cancer.

Being protected from the sun doesn't mean you have to be undercovered in a huge umbrella or supersized scarf . There are a lot of sunscreen lotions and sprays that you can use to protect from sun's harmful elements. I would say that I am not really a big fan of using sun cream for daily use. More often, I just use hydrating body lotion and face lotion with 20SPF..

Recently, a good friend gave me a very interesting sun cream. It's called SOLARIUM.  And it looks like this,

The product is packaged on a cream-colored tube container.

What does the product says?

SOLARIUM PHY AG PROTECTION. Advanced technology against cellular damage from UV rays. With Phy-saccaride AG that performs a multi-fuctional photo-protective action to strengthen the skin's defenses, for an exceptional anti-oxidizing efficacy. SUN CREAM FOR SENSITIVE SKIN WITH SUN INTOLERANCE. For the specific active protection of sensitive skin prone to sun intolerance. Diminishes redness and increases resistance to subsequent sun exposure.

My Not-So-Happy Thought

  • The strong is a bit strong like any other sunscreen I know although diminishes throughout the time. (I wonder why all sunscreen smells like that). :D
  • It's not locally available. :(

My Happy Thoughts

  • I love the creamy texture. It's super lightweight!
  •  It absorbs on the skin and blends really well.
  • It did not break my skin out. Good job.
  • It doesn't feel sticky when you sweat
  • Available on other SPF number with anti ageing pigment.

Don't you know that the effectivity of  sunscreen relies on how you apply it onto your skin?
When applied properly, an SPF 15 filters out 93 percent of UVB, SPF 30 filters 97 percent and SPF 50 filters 98 percent. So those with high SPF that you've come across with are just insane numbers. You just need to apply it sufficiently -  at least a quarter teaspoon for the face – and that you are re-applying often enough under continuous sun exposure.

As for me, 30SPF is already the magic number for daily use since I only expose myself to the sun everytime I commute to the office, and that will only took 20 to 30 minutes.

What about you? What do you use to protect your skin  from the sun?  :)
